The Redwood Plan made its proper Seattle debut last weekend at the Sunset Tavern. The band's 40-minute set, which was broadcast live on KEXP, contained all the material from the group's self-titled debut EP as well as several new songs that hopefully will find their way to a full-length album soon.
I say proper Seattle debut because the group played its first live set ever billed as "special guests" during a show at the Comet a few weeks back. Those who were in the know knew it was really Lesli Wood, Jamie Hellgate, Betty ST and Sydney Stolfuss, a.k.a. The Redwood Plan, making their live debut like sneaky rock 'n' roll ninjas.
Ear Candy wasn't at that show, but Ear Candy was there to witness the group's first major splash into the local scene at the Sunset (although to be fair, both Lesli Wood and Jamie Hellgate have already made pretty big splashes in the scene with H is For Hellgate and Ms Led). Expect a review of the show soon along with a live track from the set. Here are some pictures to hold you over in the meantime.
